Harborough Mail - Movie stars dine out on Great Easton firm’s products at Baftas
Picture from the EEBAFTAs 2014 by Marc Hoberman
The firm was asked to supply bespoke table mats for the Baftas at the Grosvenor House in London earlier this month.
It is the third time tableware design company Yellow Pumpkin has supplied the film awards night with the specially-designed mats and this year they produced 25, featuring stills from hit films such as 12 Years A Slave, Gravity, Philomena, Captain Phillips and American Hustle.
The mats proved popular with the star-studded diners with many snapped-up as souvenirs.
Richard Booth, who runs the firm with wife Jane, said: “It’s a great honour to be chosen for such a high-profile event, knowing that there would be some very famous names looking at our product.”
Graphic designers Richard and Jane set up the firm in 2009.

Stephen Fry knows his place (mats) at the Baftas
Hosting the Bafta film awards last Sunday, Stephen Fry declared himself “humbled, honoured and, in the best sense of the word, paid, to be here”. But, despite his (one assumes) generous remuneration, the 56-year-old wasn’t averse to bagging a few favours at the end of the evening.
At the official dinner and after-party at London’s Grosvenor House, special giveaway place mats featuring stills from the five Best Film nominees (American Hustle, Gravity, Philomena, 12 Years a Slave and Captain Phillips) were popular among guests. Many queued up to have theirs signed by Alfonso Cuarón, crowned Best Director for Gravity. Others went home with several stuffed in their bags.
But did Fry need to take quite so many? A veteran host of dinner parties as well as film awards, you’d think he was sufficiently stocked with dining-table accessories.
Apparently not. According to one guest, the actor, writer and wit pocketed half a dozen. The only question now is who he’d most like to eat his dinner off – Jennifer Lawrence, Judi Dench or George Clooney?
